Had a good experience. They were very professional yet fun. Easy to get along with Kerry and the other members of her team. We used them for the purchase of our home. We would use them again without a doubt.

Kerry did my wife and I’s will recently and I was most impressed with the advice I rec’d and the Will document itself. Kerry herself takes a lot of pride in her calling and client benefits from that. Price was also reasonable.

Kerry was great! Very accommodating to our schedules, super easy to talk to and down-to-earth. Provided honest advise that benefitted us, rather than increasing the firm’s business. Will be using and recommending them in the future.

Very disappointed with their service, specifically with the receptionist. We communicated back and forth multiple times as our documents for closing our home were coming last minute. Though we knew the day the papers would arrive, the receptionist told us she would not book us until they received the papers and also said she would call when they got them and guaranteed to get us in. They did not call us when they received them. Did not return our messages left on their machine. And when we called once we knew our papers were in they bailed on us saying they couldn’t get us in for a week leaving us scrambling to find a new lawyer day of. They had been in contact with our realtor and notary from out of province and were very aware of our situation. Very disappointing. Absolutely will never use their service again and save yourself the stress and look elsewhere.

I’ve been down to see Mr Byron twice now and each time the 30 minute consult was pretty much enough to solve the problem. Well… I do have to go once more but paying for his services will likely save me thousands so that seems like a good deal.

Tim Byron has assisted me with a very complex and convoluted action that has spanned more than thirty years. He took the time to really understand the chronology of the case, complexities of the people involved and needs of myself and my company going forward. Tim has been professional, informative and wise. I cannot give higher praise for the work he has done and the way that he has treated me and my family.

This is an update of my ongoing experience with Byron and Company. It is now two years later and this case, that has spanned over three and a half decades, is now wrapping up. Tim Byron has been involved for only the last four years or so, and in the beginning one of the biggest fears was that the court would deem the debt defunct because so much time had elapsed. Tim fought against the stale dated argument and he won for us. This in itself was a miraculous event.

I am not the only person who has had the misfortune of being owed money by the same person, and I have been contacted by the other complainants looking for assistance getting their case into court. Tim has been the only lawyer to put a debt issue against this fellow before the court for a resolution, and the court’s response to Tim’s narratives have been very favourable. He questioned one witness before the judge for hours and it was his skillful probing that painted a very clear picture for the justice of what had really taken place and the deception that had been perpetrated against me and my family over time. He showed how we had been manipulated and lied to for years, and the other claimants wanted to show how they had also been manipulated and lied to.

I am sure that this is an unusual thing to say about a lawyer but, I am going to be so happy to pay Byron and Company because of the value I received from them. I was getting nothing and they turned it right around. I now feel I have settled this once and for all in my favour.

Wrong address listed… in the wrong city.

Called, made appointment, drove to listed location and waited… looked for office and called to confirm address… apparently they are located in Edmonton… not Fort McMurray.

A notary public (a.k.a. notary or public notary; pl. notaries public) of the common law is a public officer constituted by law to serve the public in non-contentious matters usually concerned with general financial transactions, estates, deeds, powers-of-attorney, and foreign and international business. A notary's main functions are to validate the signature of a person (for purposes of signing a document); administer oaths and affirmations; take affidavits and statutory declarations, including from witnesses; authenticate the execution of certain classes of documents; take acknowledgments (e.g., of deeds and other conveyances); provide notice of foreign drafts; provide exemplifications and notarial copies; and, to perform certain other official acts depending on the jurisdiction. Such transactions are known as notarial acts, or more commonly, notarizations. The term notary public only refers to common-law notaries and should not be confused with civil-law notaries. With the exceptions of Louisiana, Puerto Rico, Quebec (whose private law is based on civil law), and British Columbia (whose notarial tradition stems from scrivener notary practice), a notary public in the rest of the United States and most of Canada has powers that are far more limited than those of civil-law or other common-law notaries, both of whom are qualified lawyers admitted to the bar: such notaries may be referred to as notaries-at-law or lawyer notaries. Therefore, at common law, notarial service is distinctly different from the practice of law, and giving legal advice and preparing legal instruments is forbidden to lay notaries such as those appointed throughout most of the United States. Despite these distinctions, lawyers in the United States may apply to become notaries, and this class of notary is allowed to provide legal advice, such as determining the type of act required (affidavit, acknowledgment, etc.).
